How Tags Work

Understand the tag system that organizes all content on the platform.

In this article

Every post on the platform is categorized with tags. Tags are the primary way to find and filter content:

1

Character

Named characters (e.g. Nami, Hinata)

2

Copyright

Franchises (e.g. One Piece, Naruto)

3

Artist

Who created the artwork

4

General

Descriptive (e.g. blonde_hair, beach)

5

Meta

Technical (e.g. high_resolution, animated)

Understanding Tag Types

Tags are color-coded by type so you can quickly identify what they describe:

Character tags identify specific characters in the artwork. These are often the most searched tags.

Copyright tags identify the source material -- the anime, game, comic, or franchise the characters belong to.

Artist tags credit the creator of the artwork. Clicking an artist tag shows all their work.

General tags describe visual attributes and themes -- things like hair color, clothing, poses, settings, and actions.

Meta tags describe technical properties of the post itself -- resolution, aspect ratio, animation, file type, etc.

Using Tags to Find Content

Click any tag on a post to search for more content with that tag. You can combine multiple tags in the search bar to narrow results (e.g. searching "nami bikini beach" finds posts tagged with all three).

Tags use underscores instead of spaces:
blonde_hair, not "blonde hair". The search bar autocomplete handles this for you -- just start typing and pick from the suggestions.

Excluding Tags from Search

You can exclude specific tags from search results using negative tags. In the search bar, type a dash (-) before the tag name to exclude it. For example: "beach -sunset" shows beach posts without the sunset tag.

Excluded tags appear as
red pills in the search bar, while normal tags appear as white pills. You can also click the minus icon next to any suggestion in the dropdown to exclude it directly.

Album Tags

Albums are automatically tagged based on the posts inside them. The platform aggregates tags from all posts in the album, keeping all character, copyright, artist, and meta tags, plus the 35 most common general tags. This means you can search for albums using the same tags you use for posts.
