Learn about public, premium, and private albums -- browsing, previewing, and purchasing.

Album Visibility Types

Each album has one of three visibility settings:

Public

Free
Visible to everyone. All posts freely accessible. Searchable by tags. Shows on creator profiles and the Albums browse page.

Premium

Paid
Visible to everyone but posts are locked. 1-5 preview posts shown for free. One-time crypto payment unlocks all posts permanently. Priced between $1-$1,000.

Private

Owner only
Only visible to the album creator. Not searchable, not on profiles. Used for personal organization or works in progress.

Premium (Purchased)

Unlocked
Once you purchase a premium album, all posts are unlocked. You have permanent lifetime access. The creator can add new posts but cannot remove existing ones.

Browsing Albums

The Albums page (`/albums`) shows all public and premium albums. You can search albums by tags using the search bar (albums are automatically tagged based on their contents). Use the filter tabs to show All, Premium only, or your Purchased albums.

Album cards show the cover image, album name, creator, description snippet, and stats (post count, votes, bookmarks, purchases for premium).

Purchasing Premium Albums

When you find a premium album you want:

1. View the preview posts to see what's inside 2. Click "Unlock Album" and the listed price 3. First-time buyers see a brief crypto tutorial 4. The payment widget opens -- connect your wallet and approve the transaction 5. Once confirmed on the blockchain, all posts unlock instantly

You can close the page during confirmation -- access is granted automatically. Check your Purchases page to see all unlocked albums.

Pay Once, Access Forever

When you purchase a premium album, your access is permanent. It never expires. The creator can add new posts to the album (and you'll see them), but they cannot remove posts you've already paid for. This protects your purchase.

Album Features

Voting: Upvote albums you enjoy (thumbs-up icon on the album page). Bookmarking: Save albums for quick access later (bookmark icon). Sorting: Public albums can be sorted by Newest or Oldest. Premium albums display in the creator's set order. Stats: Each album shows post count, vote count, bookmark count, and purchase count.
